Serving to bolster ongoing prevention efforts at Prevent Child Abuse Georgia, Mariah Smith of Memphis, Tenn., is already engaged in the evolving work of the organization.
From Memphis, Tennessee, Smith received her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Georgia State University and is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Health program with a concentration in Epidemiology.
While at GSU, Smith participated in various academic and extracurricular activities including biomechanics and breast cancer research, biology supplemental instruction, Access to Careers in Research Administration, American Medical School Association, HEAL Clinical Education Network, Desire2Move,
and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She also was a member of the women’s track and field team.
Smith loves to read and she’s somewhat TikTok famous, with 4,700 followers; most of her posts provide commentary about television programs.
While at PCA Georgia, the ambitious student hopes to increase her knowledge of public health specifically around child and family health and well-being. She also aims to increase public awareness about PCA Georgia’s programs in the communities it serves.
