The newest intern serving at Prevent Child Abuse Georgia for the fall semester is Alyssa Taylor, who is pursuing a master’s degree in public health, concentrating in Health Management and Policy.
Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in public and community health from Ithaca College and is passionate about global maternal and child health and the health of incarcerated individuals.
For her practicum experience, she is working with PCA Georgia this semester to review policy implications of legislature from the past legislative session, as well as researching child abuse and neglect in military families.
Since graduating with her bachelor’s in 2020, she has worked as a Research Assistant at Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah, mapping resources for Autism Care and creating guidance to assist families in signing up for government assistance.
Currently, she is a Research Assistant at Rockdale County Jail, where she is working on a new reentry program for 17-—to 24-year-olds in partnership with George Mason University.
She enjoys spending her free time with her dog, Kuzco, and participating in two book clubs.
